This speculative project explores Norway's salmon farming industry and suggests new and drastic ways to keep up with an ever growing population.
This proposal explores future possibilities for fish breeding and food production. Due to an ever-growing population, humans are trying to come up with new and drastic ways to feed the increasing number of people.
SalmonTech specialises in cultured meat manufacturing and North
Atlantic fish cultivation. An artificial river connecting the factory to the sea, enables a simulated migration which is regulated and monitored to manage sea lice and keep the fish healthy. Once the migration procedure is over and the next generation have spawned, a certain amount of fertilised eggs are taken for stem cell extraction which serve as a basis for the lab grown meat.
The produce is marketed and exported worldwide, while offering a better environment for farmed fish and pushing the boundaries of in vitro meat.
